The 2008 saviour, Aaron Cook, thankfully takes the mound again tonight. Here's hoping he can help this club avoid a sweep at the hands of the suddenly resourceful Pirates. A sweep could very well translate into a Fuentes trade? Wouldn't surprise me...
Let's hope the bats can remember the damage they did to Z. Duke last time they faced him a little over a week ago. Specifically Baker and Holliday, who looked pretty chumpy last night - but teed off on Duke a couple Sundays ago.
Seems ridiculous to say, but this is sort of a big game.

Well a 3-0 lead in the 5th. Why does this have me completely nervous?
An I-Dog bomb to put the Rocks up 6-0 has me feeling a little better. That's a good way to earn your tshirt jersey night in the upcoming homestand.
Jesus Cook. Get it together man..
wow...cookie giving a bunch of runs back here in the 5th unfortunately. what's with the walks? they'll kill ya.
needless to say the Pirates are pesky. resilient.
Rockies' bats better answer...
i hate to sound like a broken record but this game seems big for the remaining trajectory of the '08 season.
far be it from me to say "go to the bullpen" but Cook is looking mighty mortal suddenly.
Tulo might want to consider getting out of the car business and in to the insurance business.
...and its name is the Sully Snowcone Machine.
whew.
Nice work tito. Maybe I don't want you to be traded after all. Congrats on increasing your all-time Rockies save lead over Bruce Ruffin.
While the series is still disappointing, salvaging one game was, indeed, pretty huge.
Will be interesting to see what happens in the next 28 hours.
Just wanted to chime in one more time about last night and Hawpe's lack of catch. Late last night, I was watching 'webgems' and I saw the Bucs CF McCloud make an amazing catch to rob G-Dog of extra bases (and rockies runs). This was the #2 gem. After that, they showed practically live footage in SD where the Pads, down 0-3 to the Dbacks in the bottom of the 8th, had the bases loaded with two outs. Not sure who was batting, but he jacked it to RCF and the outfielder for the DBacks (again, not sure who, I was falling asleep)made one of the most amazing, game-saving plays I've ever seen.
Those 3 plays combined were the reason we dropped another game behind the Snakes. Hawpe needs to make that catch.
i was pretty impressed by that catch by McLouth last night for sure. the dude is a gamer...as they say.
yep, Hawpe should have had it.
Yep, unwar the pads and unwar the giants.
From the highlights, it looked like the Dodgers were again flashing some leather to steal some runs away from SF.
the new Hold Steady. the first song on the album is amazing.
