How Are You Liking Guys Night Out?

Fucking Awesome!!! Big shout-out to our own Sonic Tooth for not getting any guesses correct in the "Higher Lower" bottom-of-the-3rd jamboree. Going with "higher" on a starting number of 29 was definitely a gaffe, but a gaffe that was totally overshadowed by a slew of Nats' gaffes that pretty much lead to an undeserved, but welcome, rare Rocks win on Guys Night Out at Coors. I guess this is what you sign up for when you play the Nats.

Sloppy baseball and High Low performances tonight. I expect better things tomorrow out of this team and whatever lucky soul gets selected by Lauren and her adorable sidekick....

That's Right, I'm Your Manager

No, not Jim Tracy. Talking 'bout Marq-Dog. A much-needed pitching gem for a team that desperately needed to rebound after last night and for a pitcher that had a dreadful start down in Anaheim last week. Bravo. In case you weren't paying attention, that was a 2-hit, complete game shutout, accompanied by a two-out, bases-loaded, 2-RBI base hit that provided a little breathing room in what was a 1-0 game at the time. Oh yeah, the victory gives Marq-Dog 10 for the year, best in the NL.

Getting swept in this series would've been a bit of a disaster (considering the opponent). Now, the roadie is at worst a successful 5-4, at best a sparkling 6-3. I prefer the latter, but either way, nice work fellas. C'mon Super DLR!

That game sucked last night

Way too many Ks last night. The game should have been won in the 10th inning with a runner at 1st and 3rd and no one out, but the ball was not even put into play. Even a GIDP would have been welcomed there. A good job by Super Ubaldo, though the balk and poor pitch-out were definitely a part of the loss. Hopefully Marq-Dog can bounce back after his shaky performance in Anaheim last week.

We'll need more barrel tonight (I'm officially calling for more barrel... it worked last time).

Ho Hum. Another Sweep.

It seems like just yesterday when the Rocks were sweepless in '09. Now they have swept four (make that five) series, three on the road. This has been a weird season so far. Wouldn't mind a little more weirdness in this upcoming series with the hated Dodgers who have completely dominated us this year.

Kind of sad seeing this latest sweep against the A's, who just flat-out look like a bad team. It appears the A's were more than one Matt Holliday and one Super Gallego away from being contenders in '09.

I Love Being 11 Games Under .500

Bowie and Maddow lurking, but an 8 run lead is safe. DLR is the man.

barrel

The bats have been a bit cold the last few games, time to start getting some good barrel on the ball. Though there was 1 somewhat big inning last night, the game was pretty much won on the mound. A job well done for Ham-Bone and Street-Dog (whammy?), but an extremely shaky 8th for Flores and Stacy Peralta. Good damage control I guess.

Anywho, let's get some good barrel tonight.

LOB/RISP Hell, the 1st base ump is blind, and Barmes sucks on a higher plane than ever thought imaginable.

Despite Tulo's double-dong heroics, this was the kind of game where a loss was truly deserved, and came to fruition.
Barmes choked 3 straight at bats with someone on 3rd with less than 2 outs tonight. Unacceptable Clint, could have used those runs...also struck out to end the game.
Stewart with some sketchy play at 3rd doomed poor Ubaldo's 8th inning, and began the unravelling, and probably cost the Rox the game. Dude, those are bunts, you are a 3rd baseman....
Luck and success runs out at some point. The Rox had reached the end of their good fortune. Angels fans seemed to be enjoying it. The Rally Monkey is stupid.
