an almost choke job

Wouldn't have been nearly as bad as the choke job at Wrigley last year when we were up by like 50 runs, but that 9th inning was sketchy as hell. I got to believe there may be some closer controversey now with Street giving up runs in his last 3 appearances, and trying to rice up this one. I've got a feeling I won't be doing my heart health any favors by watching the Rockies in the 9th inning this year.

On a more positive note Marquis looked solid again, both on the mound and at the plate.

Back to 500? Nice ; like; get comfy.

Loving the early returns on Marquis. Huston Street, I want to like you, but what the hell. Can't secure a four run lead?

I was also thinking of that blown 50-run lead from last year. Worst Rockies game ever.

Gotta give Hurdle some props for sensing the meltdown and going to get his closer. If it had been Chicon on the mound, he would've let him take the loss.

The game probably added to Bowie and Maddow's bullpen concerns.

Agreed on the Hurdle comment. A good move actually; perhaps he learned a little something from his experience with Chacon.

was a little shocked on the ESPN Gamecast to see Grilli's mug come up after the shit-start from Street.
pleased but shocked (nice move Hurdle...maybe you can manage?), things were getting a little dicey and if I do say so myself, a little ricey.

Extremely ricey.

I'm already wishing that free extra innings package wasn't over.

Concerned Bowies might have to be the Rox version of the Angry Broncos Video Game Characters.
and/or actual Rachel Maddows.

Marquis has to be the early season Cy Young favorite. 2-0. 1.93 ERA.

aw shit...just jinxed that. sorry.

seriously though. some major frustration as I sat down to "enjoy" some highlights tonight....the MLB network's post-coverage of that game was all about motherfucking Harden, and how "amazing" he was in a 3 inning outing loss. jesus...it must be nice being a cubs fan and still have your dick sucked by the national media.
after you get beat.
at home.
by one of your castoff pitchers.

lovable losers? Yes, I do love seeing them lose.

I also like the comment 8 idea, but hopefully it won't be utilized much.

You mean, mlb network talked about something other than Tim Wakefield's no-hitter into the 8th? Because I sure didn't see it.

Yeah they brokeaway for a moment from the Wakefield love....
