Barmes to the Rescue

Hurdle looked pretty genius-like after putting Barmes in the lineup today for the struggling Tulo. Clint responded by setting the tone in the 1st inning with a 2 run dong. The Rockies never trailed in this one and took out a little frustration after getting embarrassed thus far in the desert. Cookie wasn't as dominant as he was in his last start, but had a pretty decent outing to pick up his first win of the season. Not a successful series, but today's victory averts what would have been a disastrous beginning to a long road trip. Need to keep those bats hot as the Rockies travel for another important divisional series against the Fathers....

A pretty impressive game by Barmes, and getting things started in the first inning was key.
still...Barmes card = pennies.

The offensive explosion was very encouraging. The piddly runs allowed by the bullpen was not. Granted most of that was with a large lead, but not an excuse to let your ERA creep near the double digits...(I'm looking in your direction Micah. You need to be sent down or cut or something)

Today's game was a meager salvage, but it does allow the team to avoid the utter disgrace of being 0-6 vs. AZ. Now for some momentum.

Yeah, Micah Bowie looks old and bad. Not sure how he pitched so well and fooled everyone in Tucson. Wish we would've kept Ramon instead.

I hope the Rockies are relaxing on the off day and getting psyched for a pretty important series in SD.

I was actually just wondering if the day off might feature a donkey show in TJ....

By the way, that Barmes card is pennies, but going up after yesterday.
