What's With All The Choking??

Christ, these last three losses have really taken away any luster from the recent road trip. Corpas getting in on the fun tonight with some 9th inning choking to blow his 3rd save this season. For the most part, he hasn't look like the same pitcher as last year. And we all know about Fuentes when he gets a little rattled. Not that the bullpen was the only party at fault tonight. Some pretty bad defense at times cost runs. Baker does not look up to the task at 2nd base (two blown double-plays) and Taveras with a stupid throw in the 9th and failing to get a good jump to make a saving catch on a ball that didn't appear to be smoked, but scored the 3 decisive runs.

Much like the D-Backs losses, it hurts to lose these games to another playoff casualty, the Phillies, especially the way it all went down. And with the white-hot Cubs coming to town for a pair, this isn't shaping up to be a good April.

Where are those Coors Light guys? I feel like I might need to vent..........

gawd. can't hold a lead...not a good sign. 3 games in a row now.
i've got to agree, I don't like this little cubs series coming up. might prove to only extend the current spate of ugliness.

at least Micah Bowie is on the 15 day DL. i'd prefer it be the Eternal DL, but whatever...

Not even the good omen of Bowie leaving the team can produce a win. Franklin vs. the Cubs doesn't instill confidence.

were you and DT at last night's game?

Just me and a few friends at the game last night. I'd put some of the blame on Hurdle as well. Why was Yorvit trying to steal late in the game? Why did we intentionally walk a struggling Ryan Howard?

Best thing about last night was sitting by Alex English.

The late game yorvit steals seem to be happening too much lately. I think the ryan howard walk was to to set up a double play. That worked well.

If we play good D, we've got at least a 2 run lead going into the top of the 9th.

TD, was I out there making the calls on Taveras' throw allowing the extra base????
Classic Young Bear.

I am a "take the bad with the good" proposition as a teammate.

Skip, I won't make that mistake and will even work it out with Tony and Carl before tomorrow's tilt.

Yes, that play looked very Das-Bootish!
