April is the cruellest month.

Always difficult to refrain from quoting from masterpieces of long-form poetry when blogging about the Rockies, so today I've culled from T.S. Eliot's The Waste Land.

"April is the cruellest month", I don't think the great scribe, Tulo, could have said it any better. It sure has been a rough one. Fairly effectively washing away any residual joy of late '07 which may have been lingering. The team appears to be a mess. Not sure if they are going to be able to turn things around...they sure as hell don't look like they will.

Hopefully May treats the hometown 9 a little bit kinder.

TULO OUT UNTIL ALL-STAR BREAK!?!?!

I guess Tulo really took that 12-hole spot suggestion to heart.

Bad news, but it's hard to deny that Tulo was really sucking bad in April. Maybe this will be a good thing. Good thing Jamey Carroll can step in and play second....

I'll be at Coors Friday (weather permitting) and Sunday. They better bring a new attitude to the park come this weekend. No excuses, gentlemen.

ST - the Denver Post sports page poached your headline in today's edition. They must be reading BSB.

WHAT?!?!?

Kinda figured it wasn't that original in the baseball context...but did they have a head shot of Eliot????

No Eliot head. It was the tag line on the top of page 1 of the sports page leading to an article later in the section. It featured a picture of Morales rubbing his head.

Morales does love to rub his head. (when things start getting dicey, which is everytime he pitches)
